Our Story
Horse riding has been a part of my life since I was young. I first picked it up while living in Dubai, where my friends and I would organise casual riding sessions at a stable we frequented together. There were no formal instructors, just guides ensuring we stayed on route. Like most young riders, we were impatient and excited. We raced each other, pushed the horses, and I still remember the first time my horse broke into a full gallop. It felt liberating. I’ve been chasing that feeling ever since.
After graduating and returning to Singapore, I began exploring riding schools and was eventually introduced to polo. I saved up, joined the Singapore Polo Club, and quickly became hooked. But as my involvement in the sport deepened, so did a familiar frustration, buying proper polo gear.
While the club carried equipment, the quality often didn’t match that of established international brands. So I made my first overseas purchase, a polo mallet from New Zealand. When the invoice arrived, I was shocked. The shipping cost was higher than the mallet itself. It felt absurd, and I knew I couldn’t be the only one experiencing this.
When I spoke to other players, they all agreed. There were only three real options.
Paying international shipping alone.
Buying overseas and collecting it personally.
Grouping together and sharing shipping costs.
The third option made the most sense, but in practice it was awkward. It required announcing your purchase intentions to your personal circle, and polo communities are small. While my immediate circle might not need the same gear, the wider polo community certainly would.
That was the turning point.
What if there was a simple way to connect players who were buying from the same brand without needing to coordinate manually or rely on personal networks. What if someone could start a request, and others interested could quietly join in, reducing shipping costs for everyone.
That idea became Sharedeq.
Sharedeq is built on a simple belief. Polo players should be able to access the gear they trust without being held back by geography or excessive shipping fees. By connecting players purchasing from the same brands, we make it possible to share logistics costs and bring premium polo equipment within reach.
In a sport where safety, performance, and confidence depend on proper equipment, access shouldn’t be a privilege limited by location. Sharedeq exists to level that playing field, one shared shipment at a time
